I bough My Beauty Diary Mask from Pasar Malam!

It was really to my surprised that the My Beauty Diary Masks are selling at Pasar Malam (night market) – 1 piece for RM2.00 and RM5.00 for any 3 pieces (I am unable to recover my costs if I will to sell it at the same price :S)! What's more is it includes the new lines - the My Beauty Diary Chocolate Mask!

How do they do this (the ‘art’ of imitation is really unbelievable)?!

I bought 3 pieces of Black Pearl, Mixed Berry and Intensive White masks out of curiosity and also taking the opportunity to do another round of verification of the trustworthiness of my supplier; because, I'M A CONSUMER TOO.

Here are a few points I noticed from the co-called 'cheaper' or fake masks from the Pasar Malam:

1. Most of the mask packets displayed do not have the mark of stamp of production and expiry dates at the front of its packet.

I only noticed 1 packet with the mark of the mentioned stamp clearly seen at the front of the packet. Side note: It was kind of awkward when I was browsing through the masks one by one and pretending to look at the description on each packet. But I could not help to do so…

See these picture (please forgive me lousy photography =p) - only the Black Pearl Mask has the stamp mask on the front of the packet:

2. The yiakkie smell!

I guess all of us will be able to differentiate the fake mask from the authentic one as soon as you open the fake mask. The smell of the fake mask is very STRONG, like those spoilt perfume or mixture of perfume and strong body odour! I don’t how to describe it any better. I will suggest you to find it out on your own if you are really curious to ‘experience’ it!

The smell of the authentic My Beauty Diary Mask is light and refreshing! My regulars should know =)

3. The thick and sticky essence.

Unlike the authentic My Beauty Diary Mask with crystal clear essence, the fake mask sheet has a very sticky and yiakkie texture. Again, I will suggest you to find it out on your own if you are really curious to ‘experience’ it!

4. The shape of the mask sheet. They are really different!
Let the photos tell you the rest. The fake mask sheet has a more pointing 'head' or rather the forehead part if more 'triangle'; whereas the authentic one is more oval overall:

The one on top is the fake one and the authentic one is the more oval one below:

5. The lot number of the fake mask ended with an alphabet.

I’m unsure if this is a good differentiator but this is what I noticed after my thorough ‘examination’.

I throw away the fake mask after the necessary examination!

The main objective of the My Beauty Diary Mask is to make you prettier by day. Please don’t fool with your skin; and cheap doesn’t necessarily mean good; more important is to archive value-for-money and continue to support Elegant Beauties!

Cheers,
Alys, Elegant Beauties

P/S: Welcome those who have experience with the fake mask to share their view here =)
